    "I cannot"... say "I cannot"

Something that has been popping up very frequently nowadays is this whole idea of "I cannot". I realized that I like to say "I cannot" until CC asked me why I say "I cannot" AND IS THERE A BIBLICAL REASON BEHIND IT? That stunned me for a while. I guessed when I say "I cannot", it is out of a fear of not being able to meet people's expectations and probably pride and laziness. Put it simply, I say cannot because I am unwilling and because it is difficult. So is there a biblical backing to this reason? I doubt so.

Then during staff meeting this week, Alan Catchpoole was sharing with us on 1 Pet and he wrote this on his write-up:
"Until Christ returns, we must continue to live in a "dark place"... we must cope with adverse circumstances... we also struggle with our own inadequacies... We suffer, then, both circumstantial and constitutional difficulties... "

And the way Peter went about encouraging his readers was to urge them to put their confidence in the Word, which WILL guide them thru the different circumstances and help them thru their inadequacies. So I guess God is really shouting out loud to me to not use "I cannot" as an excuse anymore. It is so tempting and so easy to just use "I cannot" as an excuse but if I truly understood the power of God, I must then learn to respond wisely to requests and instructions and learn to look beyond myself but to God for help.
