Complaining has probably become an integral part of our lives, especially so in Singapore. When we are not happy with something or feel that we deserve better response or service, we naturally complain.(In fact, this is like what I am doing...) I started thinking about this whole complaining issue after hearing from my sis a couple of times about how my dad would complain about me, then my grandma on my dad, then my aunts on my grandma etc. (vicious cycle!) But as I hear all those complains, what perks me (especially when I am the subject of complain) is the fact that they talk behind the person's back but don't bring it up to the person personally! Why? After thinking about it, I thought of 3 reasons. Either the subject person is too stubborn to listen to what you have to say about him/her or the person has no guts to tell the subject person upfront and hear what you have to say or the person gave up on the subject person. So what does it mean for me? Definitely for one, I need to live a blameless life so that people have nothing to "complain" about me. Tough right? So for second, I need to be as open and approachable and ready to give a defense for my action in a calm, controlled manner so that people do not perceive me as stubborn and then don't tell me when I do wrong things. Equally tough but necessary. *Sigh*
God, please grant me patience even when I hear about such complains about me and also for wisdom to respond rightly when people complain to me about others.
