I like what Dr. Ho mentioned in the sermon yesterday. It goes something like this...
"Sometimes in life, we focus on so many other inconsequential things that we fail to focus on things that are more important..."
This was mentioned in response to the various man-made and natural disasters that happened in Libya, Christchurch, Japan, Myanmar etc. He gave the example of how a couple can quarrel over who does the household chores, why is the toilet seat not lifted up when the husband uses the toilet etc. but at the next moment, when a tsunami hits the house, none of these little things will matter any more. Wouldn't it be better if the time spent on quarreling, be spent on developing a quality relationship as a couple?
I find it so true. Perhaps sometimes I am so narrow minded, just worried about my own life and problems, that I fail to see that out there, there are bigger issues and that the world don't revolve around me. Rather than worry about why my lay ups are not going into the basket or why my running pace is inconsistent or why my hair is dropping, maybe I should be focusing on things that are more important and of eternal worth!
