are you a thinker? or a cruiser?

The past 2 days has been interesting. Somehow, when I sit down and listen to some people talk about life, events, issues and their thoughts and views about it all, I realized I am so far away from being a thinker I think I was. Even further is how the thoughts of these people can be grounded and guided by God's Word. Compared to some of these "real thinkers", I pale in comparison.

So many things are happening in our day to day life. But how many of us would take time to think about these events, consider it's impact and see what God has to say about it? Perhaps we are too caught up in our own world and it's set of problems. But still, how many of us will take time to think, consider and see what God has to say over the events of our life? I guess many of us would simply cruise through life, take things as it comes and only seriously consider these things when we are questioned. Worst is when we begin to interpret those events with a wordly and human perspective, leaving God out of the picture. (Note: No good Christian would say that God is out of the picture, it is just that He has no say in it)

God's Word and the real life cannot be disconnected. It is precisely for this reason that God left us His Word, to tell us how we should live as His Creation. But yet we do not turn to it to help us understand about life and it's events. Then how can what 2 Tim 3:16-17 promised take place? No wonder we live defeated lives sometimes...

I pray that God would give me eyes to be observant about the things around me and a keen mind to think through some of these things and events He allows to happen in my life so that I may be a man of God, equipped for every good work...
