4Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.
Sitting through this particular Christo-Camp teaching has reminded me to never forget who Christ is to me. Often we come before God, praying and hoping that He will bless us and grant us good things and expect Him to do as we wished. But isn't that ironic? When we, sinners in need of great help, turn the tables around and start to look at Christ like a sugar-daddy, expecting Him to bless and provide for whatever we ask for?! I pray that the Lord will forgive me at times when i treat Him like a vending machine, hoping that He will answer to my requests without first remembering that I, Tee Ee Han, am a sinner before His eyes, and deserve nothing less than His full wrath. So i pray that the next time before I pray to God for anything, I would seriously consider my tone, my attitude and my disposition.
